The Gift Process
Your gift to the A&M-Central Texas Foundation supports a growing, thriving, and inspiring university community where our students’ hopes and dreams for themselves and their families are becoming true every day. As a donor, you may designate one of the University’s three colleges, any of its programs, departments, project, or scholarship as the intended beneficiary of your donation. Depending on the size and type of gift, some or all of the following steps are followed in the giving process and thereafter:
We provide a gift agreement
Gift agreements are established for all gifts and commitments of more than $5,000. Agreements outline the purpose, form, schedule, and administration of gifts. For gifts of less than $5,000, donors may document their preferences with letters, email, or memo.
We place the gift in an account
Every gift goes into an endowed or non-endowed Foundation account as specified by the donor and interest is accrued quarterly. 100% of your gift is placed into the specified account. Currently, the A&M-Central Texas Foundation does not charge any fees against donations.
We acknowledge your gift
We mail a receipt for every gift, as well as a letter acknowledging the gift and expressing our gratitude for your generosity. Unless you indicate otherwise, we’ll stay in touch with you from time to time, sharing university news, updates, activities, and opportunities to stay “in the know!”
We disburse funds to A&M-Central Texas
If your gift is non-endowed, the Foundation disburses the entire gift to the entity you have designated to receive the funds. We ensure that the gift is used in accordance with your wishes, and we keep you updated regarding its use and impact.
If the gift is endowed, we invest it until the funds have generated enough interest to be considered available for use, typically one fiscal year. When it is applied to your intended purpose, the amount accrued in interest becomes available for use. Again, we ensure that the gift is used in accordance with your wishes, and we keep you updated regarding its use and impact.
